Hester Painting & Decorating Dedicates September to Supporting Alzheimer’s Prevention, Care and Research Efforts

SKOKIE, Ill. (August 22, 2006) --  In an effort to bring attention to and raise funds for the important work of the Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Illinois Chapter, Hester Painting & Decorating is donating a portion of all home painting, faux finishing and wall covering installation contracts during the month of September.

A family owned and operated company, Hester Painting & Decorating will donate $200 to the Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Illinois Chapter for every customer project that commences in September 2006 and has a minimum value of $2,000.

Hester Painting & Decorating also invites its customers, employees and anyone interested in supporting Alzheimer research to join the Hester family in the annual Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk at 8 a.m. on the lakefront at Montrose Avenue (4400 north at Lake Shore Drive) in Chicago on Sunday, September 17.

“Memory Walk is a commemoration of thousands of lives touched and forever changed by Alzheimer’s,” said Kent Barnheiser, president and CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Illinois Chapter.  “Memory Walk also is time to celebrate the commitment of people, like the team at Hester Painting & Decorating, who are raising funds for programs and services to help improve quality of life for those affected by Alzheimer’s and for more research to prevent, slow, stop and cure this disease.”

Hester Painting & Decorating will triple employee contributions and match customer contributions, dollar for dollar up to $500 per contribution, to the Hester Memory Walk team.

“I was a teenager at the time my grandmother was suffering with Alzheimer’s and saw how it affected her, my grandfather and my entire family,” said Steve Hester, president of Hester Painting & Decorating.  “My goal for Memory Walk and in all our efforts for the Association is to help contribute money toward programs that aid in finding a cure and that provide assistance to people and their families who are currently suffering.”
