SKOKIE, Ill. (November 28, 2006) –  Hester Painting & Decorating kicked off its first annual Alzheimer’s awareness month in September, raising $7,500 to help fund the Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Illinois Chapter’s many programs offered to Alzheimer’s patients and caregivers in Illinois.

By donating a portion of all home painting, faux finishing and wall covering installation contracts begun in September and participating in the Alzheimer’s Association’s Annual Memory Walk, tripling employee contributions and matching customer contributions to the Hester team, Hester Painting & Decorating exceeded its fundraising goal by 50 percent.

“More than a half million people in Illinois are currently affected by Alzheimer’s disease,” said Steve Hester, president of Hester Painting & Decorating.  “We are honored to help enhance the quality of their lives and contribute to finding a cure for this disease.”
