Hester Painting & Decorating Recognizes National Youth Sports Safety Month
SKOKIE, Ill. (March 26, 2007) – Hester Painting & Decorating is donating a portion of all home painting, faux finishing and wall covering installation contracts during the month of April in an effort to promote sports safety for area youth.
In its latest Hester Cares Program, the family owned and operated company will donate $100 for sports safety equipment on behalf of customers that begin a project in April 2007. Projects must have a minimum value of $2,000 to be eligible. Donations will be made to the local youth sports program of the homeowner’s choice.
“As a North Shore resident and father of three young children, it’s important to me to know our local sports programs have the equipment they need to help keep our kids safe,” said Steve Hester, president of Hester Painting & Decorating.
According to the National Youth Sports Safety Foundation, Inc., more than five million children require medical treatment for sports injuries each year, and at least half of these injuries can be avoided. The Foundation recommends several initiatives for promoting sports safety, including inspecting community sports fields and playgrounds for potential hazards, ensuring all sports equipment meets current safety standards, inquiring about emergency plans in place in case of injury and writing letters in support of youth sports safety to school boards, athletic directors and administrators of youth sports programs.
