HESTER PAINTING & DECORATING WORKS WITH CUSTOMERS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO FUND RESEARCH FOR ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE
SKOKIE, Ill. (October 2, 2008) – To support research to find a cure for a disease that currently effects 5.2 million people worldwide, a collaboration between Hester Painting & Decorating employees and customers generated more than $22,000 last month for the Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Illinois Chapter’s many programs offered to Alzheimer’s patients and caregivers of Illinois.
By donating a portion of all home painting, faux finishing and wall covering installation contracts begun in September and participating in the Alzheimer’s Association’s Annual Memory Walk, tripling employee contributions and matching customer contributions to the Hester team, Hester Painting & Decorating exceeded its fundraising goal by more than 80 percent.
“Everyday across America more than 1,200 people develop Alzheimer’s disease,” said Steve Hester, president of Hester Painting & Decorating. “It means so much to us to help enhance the quality of their lives and contribute to finding a cure.”
A family owned and operated company, Hester Painting & Decorating is a long-time contributor to several local charities, including the Cancer Wellness Center, Chicago Botanic Garden, Alzheimer’s Association, Lyric Opera of Chicago and Children’s Memorial Hospital.
