Hester Painting & Decorating provides painting services for projects of any size. Our projects can take anywhere from 1 day to 6 months, depending on the scope of work.

Yes, preparation is essential to making a paint job last. Hester Painting & Decorating provides thorough preparation for all painting services to ensure our finished work looks beautiful and lasts for years.

Chicago and the State of Illinois currently have no licensing requirements for painting contractors. Every client should ensure any contractors allowed in their home or commercial space have more than enough insurance coverage to protect their assets. Clients should request proof of coverage, not just accept the contractor’s word, and require that they be added as an Additional Insured on the policy. Hester Painting & Decorating has all required workers’ compensation coverage, auto, general liability, and $10 million dollars umbrella coverage.

At Hester Painting & Decorating, we can move some furniture a short distance away from the walls, but we cannot move oversized/heavy pieces, and we cannot be responsible for moving expensive technology or art. We also cover all areas affected by our preparation and painting.

Yes, you should never pay for an estimate unless it is a large insurance estimate that will take much more time to work through with the insurance adjuster.

Exterior painting services include cleaning mildew from painted surfaces, all preparation work, spot priming, and the final painting step.

To reduce the risk of weather and temperature affecting the longevity of the exterior paint, we typically execute exterior work from mid-May through the end of October. Occasionally, if Chicago has an unseasonably warm fall, we can paint a little longer into November, but that is rare.

For asset protection, it is important to stay on top of minor maintenance and repairs with annual inspections by a professional painting contractor. Hester offers annual maintenance inspection programs for clients, which help them budget for what needs to be taken care of each year. Regular annual maintenance and inspection help prevent or at least delay the need for larger-scale repairs/maintenance.
